Court Administrator

Appointed by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, Andrea Tuominen became the commonwealth’s eighth court administrator on Oct. 1, 2023. She is the first woman attorney to hold the position.
With over three decades of service to the Pennsylvania Judiciary, Andrea has held various roles within the Administrative Office of Pennsylvania Courts (AOPC) including assistant court administrator and deputy court administrator. As court administrator, she leads 284 employees in the 14 AOPC departments, in overseeing court operations statewide.
Tuominen is a member of the Pennsylvania and Philadelphia Bar Associations, the Pennsylvania Association of Court Management, and the Conference of State Court Administrators. Currently, she serves as Vice-Chair of the Committee on Vulnerable Adults for the Conferences of Chief Justices and State Court Administrators, and as a member of the Conferences’ Committees on Behavioral Health and Security and Emergency Preparedness. She also serves as a member of the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency and on its County Adult Probation and Parole Advisory Committee. In 2024, Tuominen was appointed as Chair of the Supreme Court’s Artificial Intelligence Advisory Committee.
She was the recipient of the 2019 Pennsylvania Bar Association (PBA) Government Lawyer of the Year award and served as co-chair of the PBA's Commission on Women in the Profession, as well as other executive council positions. She was the liaison to the PBA Task Force on Electronic Filing and Retrieval and PBA Joint Task Force on Continuity of Delivery of Legal Services.
Tuominen received her JD from the Villanova University School of Law and her BA (cum laude) from Skidmore College.
