Certification Training
The certification course is conducted at the Pennsylvania Judicial Center (PJC), 601 Commonwealth Avenue, Harrisburg, PA 17120. The online registration for the Spring 2025 course is now closed. Please contact MJEB staff by emailing mjeb@pacourts.us or calling 717-231-9515 if you are interested in attending the course.
Registration for the fall certification course will open by Monday, August 25, on this site. The fall course and exam are scheduled to occur sometime between the dates of November 12, 2025 - December 12, 2025. The course schedule will be available in the fall.
Individuals seeking the positions of Magisterial District Judge or Philadelphia Arraignment Court Magistrate who are not members of the Pennsylvania Bar must be certified prior to assuming office. This requires the completion of a course of training and instruction in the duties of the respective office and passing an examination prior to assuming the role as set forth in 42 Pa.C.S. § 3112 - § 3114 and Pa.R.J.A. 601.

You may also review the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) www.ada.gov for more information. Requests for nonstandard classroom accommodations (NCA) must be made with this office a month prior to the start of instruction. Requests for nonstandard testing accommodations (NTA) must be made in writing a month prior to the exam.
