The Supreme Court of Pennsylvania will convene a special session on Monday, December 16, 2024, at 1:00 p.m., in the Supreme Court Courtroom at the City-County Building in Pittsburgh. During this ceremonial occasion, new lawyers will recite the official oath of office required to become members of the Pennsylvania bar.
Justice Christine Donohue will preside over the event and extends a warm invitation to members of the Allegheny County Bar Association to participate by reaffirming their oaths of office.
Justice Donohue remarked, “Taking the oath of office is a profound moment in a legal career. It is a commitment to uphold the constitutions of Pennsylvania and of the United States and to hold your clients’ interests above your own. Reaffirming this pledge reminds us all of the values that unite and inspire us as members of the legal profession.”
Registration will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the courtroom on the day of the ceremony. Members of the legal profession and their families are encouraged to attend this meaningful event, which underscores the enduring values of integrity, service, and justice.
