Description
The position supports and assists the judges of the Court of Common Pleas and the District Court Administrator of Clearfield County in effective and efficient court administration. Principal duties include overseeing scheduling for all Criminal Court matters.
Primary Duties
- Schedules criminal matters for Sentencing Court, Colloquy Court, ARD Court, and Motions Court as well as for Omnibus Pre-Trial Motions, PCRA Hearings, inmate arraignments, and bench warrant detention hearings.
- Evaluates status of PCRA Petitions and other Post-Trial Motions for Relief.
- Coordinates, schedules, and operates video-conferencing systems.
- Prepares the weekly inmate transport list and transport orders.
- Coordinates with bail bondsmen on inmate releases.
- Maintains criminal trial lists and ensures they are scheduled appropriately.
- Audits criminal filings to ensure that dispositions are correctly entered, and appropriately filed in the Clerk of Court's Office.
- Manages and schedules the Summary Appeals docket.
- Answers questions from attorneys, defendants, and the general public regarding the scheduling of criminal matters or other court business.
- Produces Orders as directed.
- Develops and maintains working knowledge of the Court's multiple case management and information systems.
- Assesses criminal court case flow to ensure matters proceed in a timely manner.
Minimum Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent, PLUS three years of administrative or office support experience in a legal, judicial, or governmental setting, or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Additional Requirements/Preferences
- Satisfactory criminal background check required.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft (Word, Excel, Outlook).
