Description

The AOPC is seeking a highly skilled and motivated accountant to join our team. This professional position is responsible for the proper and timely recording of accounting and payroll transactions to the general ledger.

Primary Duties

  • Assists with bi-weekly and monthly payroll processing.
  • Reviews and/or prepares journal entries.
  • Prepares month-end and fiscal year-end reconciliations.
  • Prepares fiscal year-end schedules and statements.
  • Prepares all tax filings (federal, state, and local).
  • Conducts necessary research on tax laws and accounting standards.
  • Assists with updating/maintaining Finance department policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, with a major in accounting, preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education, experience, and / or training may be considered.

Additional Requirements/Preferences

  • Two to four years of accounting experience, preferred.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) required.
  • Ability to analyze financial information and problem solve.
  • Attention to detail is essential.
  • Strong organizational, planning, administrative, and communication skills.
  • Satisfactory criminal background check required.
