Description

This lead professional position on the Enterprise User Services (EUS) team performs advanced technical work for critical line-of-business applications, project management, and application licensing. The position provides technical leadership to the team in the design of server infrastructure and operating procedures, and the configuration, implementation, management, and support of specialized applications to implement technologies that allow end users to work effectively.

Primary Duties

  • Designs, implements, and maintains the EUS server environment used throughout the Unified Judicial System (UJS). Configures, troubleshoots, and maintains virtual and physical servers, and the applications and services they provide.
  • Monitors server and application logs, and TICKETS queue; responds appropriately.
  • Designs, implements, and maintains cloud-based technology, including the configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Office 365 and Microsoft Azure.
  • Provides administration and support for multiple Active Directory forests and all sub-domains. Develops strategic and operational plans for continual growth and evolving user requirements. Advanced technical work including Group Policy creation, targeting, and WMI filtering are expected.
  • Manages user IDs, third party access, and access security in the EUS server environment.
  • Provides complete administration of the SCCM implementation. Uses SCCM to manage 500+ desktops, and 60+ servers. Uses queries to group like systems for deployment tasks. Creates and manages complex task sequences, silent software deployments, schedules maintenance windows, and reviews results. Completely owns the enterprise monthly patching process.
  • Develops new processes and procedures for the Office 365 and Azure environment as new features are researched, piloted, approved, and implemented.
  • Serves as secondary point of contact for managing the Judiciary's operating system, application, and cloud-based licenses. Fully understands complex licensing requirements in order to monitor compliance and assist with new and recurring purchases.
  • Assists in the research and recommendation for emerging technologies which would be candidates for future cloud/server/application-based initiatives for enterprise implementation.
  • Manages all internal and external DNS records, including Azure Traffic Manager profiles. Handles incoming DNS requests in a timely manner. Coordinates server IP address changes, security policies, and DNS changes with Network Security. Communicates with the appropriate teams requesting changes.
  • Collaborates with both development and infrastructure teams to provide desktop and server resources, or software deployments and solutions when needed.
  • Assists with software procurement by researching past purchases, current usage, and terms and conditions. Participates in annual true-ups and renewals with Microsoft, Adobe and other major vendors.
  • Assists with maintaining the Snow software management system to ensure correct reporting of software information.
  • When necessary due to staffing needs, physically unpacks, deploys, installs, and configures desktop PCs, thin clients, and laptops with client operating systems, client network configurations, host security, line of business applications, and office productivity software applications.
  • Utilizes system event logs to administer, troubleshoot, and resolve host client issues; utilizes client and server tools to patch client operating systems and software applications; update system BIOSs; install, uninstall, and upgrade hardware and software on client systems; client backups; and remote access.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in any information technology field; AND
  • Three years of IT experience, including one year of technical experience in network operations / maintenance.
  • An equivalent combination of education, experience, and / or training may be considered.

Additional Requirements/Preferences

  • Satisfactory criminal background check required.
  • Advanced knowledge of technologies used to support end users and maintain enterprise systems required. These include Microsoft System Center Suite, Hyper V, Snow License Inventory, VMWare, Active Directory, Federation Services, PKI, DNS, Enterprise Volume Licensing, Office 365, Azure, advanced PowerShell, scripting, DHCP, and Facilities Building Administration servers.
  • Advanced knowledge of enterprise operating systems, application, and cloud-based licensing standards and best practices required.
