*Position is funded through a multi-year federal grant. Starting salary will vary depending upon the qualifications and employment history of the selected candidate.

This professional position is responsible for assisting in the leadership of dependency court improvement as well as oversight of the specific county, regional and statewide dependency court improvement activities. The position will act as a liaison to assigned Family Engagement Initiative counties, Leadership Roundtables and local Children’s Roundtables and will assist with various Court Improvement Program (CIP) activities. Work is performed independently while exercising sound judgment and discretion under the direction of the Director, Office of Children and Families in the Courts.

Primary Duties

  • Facilitates partnerships between Administrative Judges and court managers, Dependency and Orphan Court judges and non-judicial staff, Office of Children, Youth & Family Services staff, and other identified partner agency staff.
  • Provides oversight and management of technical support to local Children’s Roundtables, working closely with local teams to facilitate practices that promote safe permanency and positive well-being for children.
  • Supports the implementation of statewide Child Welfare Court Improvement Program initiatives, including annual dependency conference and other training and educational projects.
  • Manages activities, meetings and initiatives of assigned Leadership Roundtables, including facilitating meeting, development of agenda, technical assistance and support to Roundtable co-chairs.
  • Develops, facilitates and participates in collaborations between the courts and child welfare agencies to identify gaps and barriers effecting child safety, well-being, permanency and the promotion of strong families; strengthens communication and integration between the systems.
  • Works collectively with IT and Research Departments to ensure data is provided in a timely and user-friendly manner. Takes lead in developing data packets for Family Engagement Initiative Counties and other CIP activities, as assigned by OCFC Director.
  • Provides expertise regarding compliance with the Adoption and Safe Families Act, Title IV-E, the Child and Family Services Review, Rules of Juvenile Court Procedure, State Permanency Law and other statutory and regulatory mandates affecting court cases.
  • Examines local data outcomes; develops and implements strategies and monitors outcomes of such.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology or Public Administration; AND
  • Two years of experience in project management or three years of case management work including experience in professional analytical work in program analysis involving the use of statistical and quantitative data.
  • An equivalent combination of education, experience, and / or training may be considered.

Additional Requirements/Preferences

  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Public Administration, Public Policy, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in dependency court operations, social work, public policy reform or related field preferred.
  • Overnight travel and a valid driver's license required.
  • Satisfactory criminal background check required.
