Description

This is administrative support work assisting with the administration and daily operation of the Court of Common Pleas of Susquehanna County. The individual in the position is primarily responsible for overall case management of the Court calendar. Responsibilities also include the management and tracking of cases from initial filing to final disposition, and quarterly statistical gathering for submission of reports. Work is performed under the direction of the District Court Administrator.

Primary Duties

  • Prepares daily court calendar for hearings and trials.
  • Performs daily case management of scheduled proceedings and scheduling issues; performs general troubleshooting.
  • Compiles quarterly statistical information for submission of reports as required.
  • Applies County and AOPC personnel policies in the absence of the DCA.
  • Responds to the public and counsel regarding court procedures and policies.
  • Assists with the jury selection process as needed; answers questions and concerns of prospective jurors.
  • Assists in overseeing the administration of the three Magisterial District Courts.
  • Assists in procuring supplies and services for the court; assists in tracking and processing of accounts payable.
  • Gains familiarity with the duties of the District Court Administrator involving personnel, budgets, scheduling, and resource management, and assumes those responsibilities in their absence.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; AND
  • Three years of clerical or secretarial experience in a legal, judicial, or government setting.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and / or experience may be considered.

  • Satisfactory criminal background check required.
